西陣織の工房を訪ねた際に、軒先に染め上げた絹の糸が干してありそれが妙に気になった。その糸はそのあと素晴らしい織物になるのだが、改めて絹の糸の美しさに見とれてしまった。そのときに糸をそのまま用いたインテリアプロダクトが作れないかと考え、試行錯誤の上照明シリーズを作成した。

When I visited a Nishijin textile workshop, I saw dyed silk threads drying by the of the roof and was strangely interested in them. The threads would later be turned into wonderful textiles, but I was struck once again by the beauty of silk threads. I wondered if it would be possible to create interior products using the threads as they are, and through a process of trial and error, I created a series of lighting products.
